Hello, my name is Anthony and this is my blog. Most of you probably know me as decryption, my internet name for over 30 years. I am Australian and like computers, the internet and other nerd stuff. That's what you'll find on this blog.

I was the co-founder of MacTalk, a nice Apple user community in the early 2000s that had a busy forum, a cheeky podcast and a single issue of a print magazine. MacTalk was sold to Niche Media who fucked it up so badly it died - RIP MacTalk. After that shitshow I ran an iOS developer conference called One More Thing that was fun but made no money.

A few mates and I started a tech blog called Reckoner. It won an award for Best Independent Media and also didn't make money so I became a freelance tech journalist writing for a few outlets but predominately Australian PC & Tech Authority. When people stopped buying magazines and the arse fell out of the online media advertising market, I started my own tech newsletter - The Sizzle. I wrote that newsletter every day for almost 10 years until I got bored of it and gave it away to its current writer.

Now I work part-time with the fine folks at Assembly Four educating non-tech people about the internet. When I'm not working I slowly kill myself watching the North Melbourne Kangaroos attempt to play football, muck around with computers, play a few video games, watch some movies and spend time with my wife.

Some stuff you might remember me for:

I love to hear from readers of my blog, so if you wanna get in touch my contact details are below. Bye!!
